Curriculum Support
Curriculum Support is offered to students who have received help from the Learning Development Department during Years 7, 8 and 9. (Students will be advised by their SEN teachers whether to continue Curriculum Support lessons in Years 10 and 11). We assume that all students will continue Curriculum Support lessons in Key Stage 4.
Curriculum Support in Years 10 and 11 is designed to help students in all areas of their studies. As it takes the place of one option, it allows students to concentrate on other subjects with a member of staff to help them.
Students are expected to bring their work from any subject to each lesson. They can expect to receive help with planning, developing themes, all aspects of writing and organisation.
Curriculum Support is particularly successful for students who may feel overwhelmed by the amount of work at Key Stage 4. It also helps students to feel in control of their studies and safe in the knowledge that should they have any problems, help is at hand.
In addition to this, students can have the opportunity to gain additional qualifications to enhance individual students’ overall performance.
Should you wish to discuss this opportunity further, please contact Ms Salih, Head of the Learning Development Department.
