Sport Relief
Coombe Girls’ School showed their commitment to Sport Relief recently, by launching their very own 'Coombe Olympics'. Students in Years 7 - 9 were sponsored by friends and family to run a mile for Sport Relief during their PE lessons. All pupils were set the challenge of covering 2012 metres, which is just over a mile, to celebrate the launch of the London 2012 Olympics. The lucky winner who raises the most sponsor money will win tickets to the Olympic and Paralympics, as the school have managed to get their hands on some of the prestigious tickets.
Students in Years 7 and 8 have taken part in an inter-house football competition as well as an interactive house quiz that is all geared up to celebrate the forthcoming London games.
The Art Department have also been busy at work drawing and painting an Olympic mural with their pupils to mark the occasion.
