Coombe Girls basks in glorious grades at GCSE
Coombe Girls’ School were delighted to record the greatest ever results in their GCSE exam history this year with 88% of Year 11 students achieving 5 A*- C grades including English and mathematics confirming the on-going success of the Coombe Secondary Schools Academy Trust.
Following on from record breaking A Level results last week, Year 11 students are celebrating outstanding academic performances with large numbers achieving top A* and A grades.
GCSE top achievers include Isabella Busa who led the way with a particularly impressive 10 A*s, 1 A and an A* in Latin short course. Other notable successes included Eleanor Tsoar with 10 A*s, Nuala Pennycook with 9A*s and 1A and Farida Ben Younis with 7A*s, 2As and A* in Latin short course.
Overall, Coombe’s Year 11 students have once again significantly exceeded the national average ‘Pass’ rate at GCSE Level including in English & maths where 94% of all pupils achieved the A*-C threshold.

Coombe Sixth Form enrolment takes place over the next two days with high numbers of students expected to register for over 30 courses. Staff will be on hand to support students during this time.
