Jack the Ripper Walking Tour
In November the History Department took 79 Year 10 History students on the Jack the Ripper walking tour in London. The night walk was particularly atmospheric this year, being on Bonfire Night, with the sounds of fireworks punctuating our tour guide's tales of the horrific events of the autumn of 1888.
The students feverishly took notes during the tour of Whitechapel and the tour guides were particularly impressed by the knowledge of our students. The GCSE students will now be able to use their findings in their upcoming controlled assessment work on the impact of the Jack the Ripper murders. The students returned to school tired but with more insight into the streets and passages of London that we often walk past without considering!
