Summer 2010 Results

The GCE results will be available for collection by students in the main Hall on Thursday 19th August from 9am-12noon. Any results that are not collected will be posted home on the same day.

Enquiries into results letter 2010

You can only make an enquiry about examination results through the examination team at Coombe. Coombe will be open for enquiries at the following times;

Friday 20th August 9-12noon

Mon 23rd August 9-12noon

Tue 24th August 9-12noon

Wed 25th August 9-12noon

Thu 26th August 9-12noon

Fri 27th August 9-12noon

The services are outlined below; there is a charge for each service. These charges vary between examination boards. Enquiries about exam results will only be made once the correct payment has been made by cheque to ‘Coombe Girls’ School’.

• Service 1: Clerical re-check. This involves a total re-check to make sure that all parts of your papers have been marked and added up correctly. You must see me by 17th September to apply for this service. It is available for the majority of examinations.
• Service 2: Re-mark. The paper is remarked by an examiner. Please note that if your grade was borderline, it would already have been checked by three different examiners and is unlikely to change. You must see me by 17th September to apply for this service.
• Priority service 2: Re-mark. As above but completed faster due to university applications. You must see me by 27th August to apply for this service.
• Service 3: Coursework re-marking. This can only be requested by Coombe Staff.
• Access to photocopies of examination scripts. You must see me by 27th August to apply for this service. It may help to decide if you wish to have your exam remarked. (You may not have a remark if you request the original script back).
• Access to original examination scripts. You can request to have your original exam scripts returned. There is a fee for this and you are unable to query the result once the paper has been requested. The deadline for requesting this service is 17th September.
• It is no longer possible to decline any grades you have received.

It is possible for your grade to fall as well as rise or stay the same. Because of this, candidates must sign a form requesting the examination results enquiry. It cannot be signed by anyone else on behalf of the candidate. All forms are available from Mrs Law or a member of the examinations team. Visit the school website ‘www.coombesixthform.org’ to find out more about these services. We will contact you as soon as we gain information concerning any examination result enquiries you may make.

Exam timetable

Click here to enter the joint examination boards website. It allows you to find out the date and time of any exam. It also allows you to print a timetable for any examination series. Your son/daughter will need to know the exam boards and exams they will be sitting, if they don't know these they can be obtained from subject teachers. We will continue to issue all students with a printout of their timetable before any examination session.
