MPs Visit Coombe to Lend Support
MPs Edward Davey and Susan Kramer visited Coombe Girls’ School on Friday 28th January to show their support for the federation that is taking place between Coombe Girls’ School and the new Coombe Boys’ School in New Malden. Edward Davey, MP for Kingston & Surbiton, is the Liberal Democrats spokes person on Education and is very interested in the Leading Edge and Federation work that is helping the local community and its school.
Coombe Girls’ school is one of only 103 Leading Edge Schools in the country and this programme is all about sharing good practice with other schools. Coombe Boys’ School, formerly known as Beverley Boys’ School, is now benefiting by going into federation with Coombe Girls’ School and Coombe Sixth Form. The local community now has the option to send all their children to a Coombe School: Coombe Boys’, Coombe Girls’ and Coombe Sixth Form, all under the leadership of Mrs Carol Campbell, who Ofsted described as ‘an outstanding headteacher’.
