Coombe Celebrates Cross Country

Congratulations to the 19 pupils who represented Coombe at the Borough Cross Country held at Surbiton High School Playing Fields. The course was very challenging, hilly and muddy but all of the Coombe Team did themselves proud with some excellent individual and team results.

Maisie Jensen won the Year 7 race, with a huge lead over second place, to become borough Champion! Well done Maisie! Gabby Ceccherini came 10th, qualifying with Maisie to represent Kingston at the Surrey Schools Cross Country. Other Year 7 results including Anna Hazell (22nd), Greta Humphries (29th), Camille Turner (32nd) and Millie Evans (48th) all contributed to the team finishing in 3rd place overall, a great result.

Our Year 8 and 9 pupils made up a combined Junior Team with Poppy Jensen winning the race, becoming Borough Champion and qualifying to run for Kingston at the Surrey Schools event in January. Other results from Years 8 and 9 included Daisy Hiller (28th), Chloe Hearne (29th), Francesca Tomlinson (36th), Lena Mijic (46th), Sophie Young (48th), Daisy Whitlie (57th) and Jessica Mair (85th). Well done to you all!

Finally our Intermediate and Senior pupils took to the course completing two gruelling laps! Four Year 10 pupils took part in the Intermediate race Imogen Busa, Annalise Spahr, Claire Dulson and Flora Anghileri. Imogen, Annalise and Claire all qualified to run at the Surrey Schools by finishing in the top 10 with the team finishing in an excellent 2nd place! Congratulations! Ellie Jennings was our only Senior representative and finished in 3rd place in her race, meaning she collected a bronze medal and will run for Kingston at the Surrey Schools. Well done Ellie!
