Coombe Wins Mock Trial

For the 3rd Year running the team from Coombe Girls’ School has won the Surrey Heat of the Citizenship Foundation’s Mock Trial Competition.

This competition sees Year 9 pupils take on all the roles in a magistrate’s court from lawyer to defendants. This will be the fourth year in a row that the team has got through to the Regional Final, which will be held in Southampton on Saturday 20th May. We will keep you informed on their progress throughout the competition.

The competition really helps with the pupil’s confidence and public speaking skills. Mr Brian Chick Head of History and Politics at Coombe Girls’ helped the pupils with hours of rehearsals ‘I am so happy with the girl’s achievements, they all worked extremely hard and performed superbly on the night’.
