Coombe Press Gang

Our school newspaper is a vibrant, interesting and stimulating publication inspired and written entirely by the members of the Coombe Press Gang. Formed by a small number of girls with a thirst and passion for the media, they write informatively and imaginatively on all subjects in and out of Coombe Girls’ School. We meet monthly to discuss what is ‘trending’, what is important to them and their peers and what they feel motivated to write about. We debate events happening in school and the national and international news. This discussion leads to the production of articles, which are edited by Mrs Brockhouse and Ms Robinson. Each student creates an article around a subject which is important to them from current affairs to baking.

This forum for their talent as journalists gives them invaluable experience for many future careers.  The club is open to any member of years 7 – 11 who has drive and enthusiasm for journalism. Anyone wishing to join Coombe Press Gang can either see Mrs Brockhouse or Ms Robinson or come to the publicised meetings.
