Coombe's Save the Earth Club
On Tuesday 20th May students from Coombe's Save the Earth Club, and staff, joined forces on a campaign to help make our school and wider community a litter-free place.
Pupils made colourful placards and chanted slogans as the group inspected the school grounds, picking up any litter as they went.
"1234 pick your litter off the floor, 5678 look at what the whale ate" was chanted to highlight the fact that plastic carrier bags end up in the sea, choking marine life.
The rally was just part of an on-going campaign that will develop social responsibility and awareness of how littering can damage our planet in so many ways.
Save the Earth Club is run by Miss Sheldon and Miss Baker and meets every Tuesday lunchtime in room 72. New members who care about the environment are always very welcome.
